As much as we might want the world to be the same, it will not. We look at the past and we wish we could go back and relive some moments, change others. In this ever-changing world which throws new situations at us every second, we desperately clutch on to the past, as much a memory as the future is a dream. How, then, can we take what ever life is giving to us if we don't let go? Living in the past is like walking backwards. We are looking at the path covered, but ignoring that which lies ahead. It's human tendency to reminisce about what is not. Fear of the unknown infests us all. But to overcome this animal instinct is a measure of one's greatness and courage. Rational thinking is the prerogative of a human mind. It's a pity that we don't use it that often. The past is history, the future is unknown, now is what we are living in, and that's why it is called the 'present'.
