the mournful silence of the unshed tears, in that night of stars, reached out and held me still within the bars of that grotesque cage. the longing nights of love and hate and that purity of the heart were all that i had with myself within that grotesque cage. gusts of wind swept beside me as i lay there alone. thoughts of those who were, once, around me were all that which in my eyes shone. futility of actions, when you are made to believe in right and wrong, is something only god can do. for only he can be cruel. even when on his path you are, you believe you do. the wrong we despise, and the right we praise, are but the turns we give to the wheel of our life. and they become the moorings posts to which our life's ship gets tied to, when there are troubled waters. they become the twinkling stars of the lonely night when we tread the soft sands of the lost times. for these rights and wrongs bring happiness and suffering, at least that's what we believe. they become the everyda...

i know not now what treasures are hidden in the folds of life. what monsters and creatures wait for me that will cause me strife. the lamp of knowledge brought me so far, bravery must now take ahead. for i can't take the trodden path that others before have do. i must make my own road for others to follow to. but let not confidence muddle my head, my mind must be careful and alert before a step is tread. for the air is filled with the screams and shouts of the bashful souls, that ran ahead with all their might without judgement guiding their toes. but i will err, that i know. and i will learn from these. but i want to make them of my own; my own decisions that fail. for it's my life and what to do of it is my choice to make.

Najma Lasania (orkut) So much cold in such a small place, Too much old in such a young face Too few laughs for such a large crowd, Too much silence from someone so loud Far too many heartaches for a single to earn, Too much knowledge for one who won't learn Too low down for someone so tall, Far too big mouthed for someone so small Someone too lonely despite all those around, Someone who hears all, though knows not a sound So much cold in such a small person, Now all forgotten 'till someone remembers.

Yours and yours and yours - Leo Marks, 1920 The life that I have Is all that I have And the life that I have Is yours. The love that I have Of the life that I have Is yours and yours and yours. A sleep I shall have A rest I shall have Yet death will be but a pause. For the peace of my years In the long green grass Will be yours and yours and yours.

As much as we might want the world to be the same, it will not. We look at the past and we wish we could go back and relive some moments, change others. In this ever-changing world which throws new situations at us every second, we desperately clutch on to the past, as much a memory as the future is a dream. How, then, can we take what ever life is giving to us if we don't let go? Living in the past is like walking backwards. We are looking at the path covered, but ignoring that which lies ahead. It's human tendency to reminisce about what is not. Fear of the unknown infests us all. But to overcome this animal instinct is a measure of one's greatness and courage. Rational thinking is the prerogative of a human mind. It's a pity that we don't use it that often. The past is history, the future is unknown, now is what we are living in, and that's why it is called the 'present'.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave/ When first we practice to perceive." Let there be no fallacy that life is good or bad. It is what we want it to be. All sins paid for and all acts of virtue being rewarded. Even when you can't comprehend the confusing complexity of events and life, this simple principle of reward and punishment is at work even then. We just forget the fact that we are not separate from the world we live in. Our actions and inactions, directly, or indirectly, affect our lives. Mind you, inactions too affect our lives. A life spent in constant effort to balance life and all it's aspects is a life worth living. We all face problems and we all face strife. But that man who understands that all that is happening to him is a result of his own actions - and inactions - will never suffer as much as other people do. He will accept his current position, and then start working to make it better. You have to be conscious of every moment of your life. You have to c...

My mood is a little mellow today I am a little confused. Yesteryears are revisited today reverie and melancholy are fused. Moments of joy and sorrow all today seem alike. Time heals today and tomorrow everything is perfectly alright. Memories of foes and feres are all fresh again. All those laughters and tears are on my lips again. Such is my mood today And I am a little amused. At the silly things we did each day or harmlessly we traduced. Now that I stand far way from those around I feel a weak strand of love keeping me and them bound. I know they remember me as much as I do them We'll shout blimey whenever we meet again.

There's no heaven, there's no hell. All deeds are being rewarded for, when there's the sound of the death knell. There's reason for everything, good behing every bad. Lets thank God for something, even if it makes us sad. Though many never know, or ponder over it, That it's God's way to show, that every bad is good and we should realise it. All religions, old or new, tell us about these two realms, with vigour anew. It's their way of telling the people that look, you should be nice and live by the words of the Holy Books. And that's all they say, nothing more nothing less, but people change the rules for their own good, and cause a lot of mess. Ignorance coupled with superstition, is a very dangerous thing. Pure heart is a pre-requisition, for each and every human being. U need not pray or go to holy sites, just believe in God with all your might, Never lose trust in him whenever something's wrong, Cause happiness will come for sure, just like a sweet...

A beat now, a skip then my heart's a rolling stone. A skip now, a flutter then my heart's a rolling stone. I dnt know myself, and what I am doing here. I dnt feel like myself, mist has fogged me unclear. a smile now, a tear then my heart's a rolling stone. I pour my heart with a pen my heart's a rolling stone. My life's fighting the vagaries of this cruel world. I bear witness of the savagery of this brutal world. a pat now, a punch then my heart's a rolling stone. tough times have but begun my heart's a rolling stone. Memories haunt my thoughts of things and people bane. I had filled the proverbial pot of sins i never committed again. a vow now, a sin thenmy heart's a rolling stone. dark chapters plague the minds of men my hearts a rolling stone. Sanity is for the dwellers of the ivory tower. reality is the surrogate of what we really are. a wound here, a kiss then my heart's a rolling stone a kiss now, a dagger then my hearts a rolling stone.

oozing out of the stalactites, seeping down the floor. hollow echos of falling drops etch on my memories forlorn. frantic search for an opening meets the closed doors of hell. fire and spit and flames of hate are so hard to quell. in that dark cave of death i hear d cadaverous bell. thrown down the winding pit blocked by a large stone. revenge is the only hope of a dying man alone. kaleidoscope of life's memories blur the eyes with tears. the salty taste of the mourning water help me fight my fears. helpless at the hands of fate woven by someone else. fire and spits and flames of hate are so hard to quell. the tide surges in the heart throwing the body taut. silencing the frantic motions of a mind distraught. clarity of thought in the fog of mind is hard to win by will. the arms are at sides, the legs are stiff, and all you want to (do) is kill. random victims of cruel fate are like questions to god. what about good deeds and love and all those lessons we were taught? what happened...

myriad hues on the boundary walls of the great horizon. where trees touch the orange sky and birds fly past them. the wind rustles the green hair of the many trees. where man and nature live in peace and happiness is free. the smoke from the huts of simple men curls up to reach the clouds. black child of a white mother, runs to hug her bound. farmers return from their fields tired from the labour of the day. who toil and put their bodies to work and don't wait for the sunshine to make hay. sons of earth with their tools in hand who have called it a day.

1. A. Experts such as Larry Burns, head of research at GM, reckon that only such a full hearted leap will allow the world to cope with the mass motorisation that will one day come to China or India. B. But once hydrogen is being produced from biomass or extracted from underground coal or made from water, using nuclear or renewable electricity, the way will be open for a huge reduction in carbon emissions from the whole system. C. In theory, once all the bugs have been sorted out, fuel cells should deliver better total fuel economy than any existing engines. D. That is twice as good as the internal combustion engine, but only five percentage points better than a diesel hybrid. E. Allowing for the resources needed to extract hydrogen from hydrocarbon, oil, coal or gas, the fuel cell has an efficiency of 30%. 1. CEDBA 2. CEBDA 3. AEDBC 4. ACEBD 2. A. As d dawn sets in with the morning hues sunlight dances on the speechless dew the whispering breeze flows past by behold the silence of the great sky. the smiling teeth of the innocent flowers the swaying hands of the little grass the constant gossip of the many leaves in the arms of their parent trees. the gleeful call of the birds humming of the little ones roaming in herds shedding the darkness of the previous night embracing the sweet warmth of the new light. yet another morning in the God given life purging of all d troubling memories giving me some respite the dreams are all forgotten consigned to the fate of night. i feel so free, i feel so calm nature is stroking me with the wind's palm i see the sky i see the flowers i have a new sense of what i am i see the moon fading away in ephemeral oblivion just like these trying times will as happiness will come again this great cycle of night and day is a lesson that we may learn from the workings of God, all is transient, in this ...

gum sum si rehne lagi hai ye shaam tanhai bhi aakar gungunati hai. veeraniyon ki ye mehfil mere ghar roz saj jaati hai. ashq bhi sookh gaye ab muskaan ka koi pata nahi, apne saare kahan chhoot gaye kab. iska koi ata nahi. dhoondhta hun unhe yaadon mein bojhil jo ho gayi hain. rangne ki koshish karta hun main deewaare jo sooni ho gayi hain. gum sum si rehne lagi hai ye shaam tanhai bhi aakar gungunati hai. veeraniyon ki ye mehfil mere ghar roz saj jaati hai

Age brings along with it perspective. Old events are seen in new light. Such paradigm shifts maybe inconsequential or insignificant, some are of modest force and in rare cases, moments of revelation, if not ephiphany. Our school had planned a visit to the women's jail on the occasion of Diwali in 2006. Sweets, clothes and toileteries were to be distributed and a skit was to be conducted to further the school's No-Crackers propaganda. The story was of a boy who was excited about burning crackers on Diwali, but ends up getting slapped, with the background CHATAAK for added emphasis of the treatment meted out to him, by his sister, mother and grandmother for the inevitable inconvenience, might I say harm, his revelries were going to cause them. Then steps in the boy's teacher who tells him how harmful crackers are and preaches him to celebrate Diwali with earthen lamps and candles. The boy learns his lesson and the usual happy ending is pursued with success. While the gifts we...

I'm the last one listening to myself. the last one to follow. preaching others all the time, while my own conscience is hollow. every day, is a day of two lives. the calm one for the world to see, and the unrestful for mine. Each day, is a day of battle. between the legitimate me, and the abhorred creation of my own mind. I lose the battle, but I will win the war. I will pull my reigns, whenever I go far. I will bask in the glory, of man's strong will. Ruminate over every action, ponder over every thought. Start with small steps, and success will not be far. I'm the God of my life. I can end all my strifes. But, I'm the last one listening to myself. the last one to follow. preaching others all the time, while my own conscience is hollow.
